Prior to joining the wedding world I was working in Higher Education cultivating and growing new programming. While it may have been an untraditional path to the wedding world I believe it was while working in Higher Education that I realized I could combine my calling for program development into a creative field. I opened my floral and event business and from there began the marketing strategy that would forever change the way I looked at successful businesses. It just clicked that successful businesses need to diversify their income stream, but it wasn’t just about that it was also about using this as a marketing strategy to also feed my event & floral business at the same time! Once I created my first flower pop-up shop I noticed some changes almost immediately, an increase in inquiries and overall bookings of about 40%, and an increase of floral budgets. Soon after I was booking 20k+ floral events with greater ease and I stepped back and realized that I had stretched beyond that initial business success and growth phase and was in a place where I was regularly becoming a household name where I lived. Amongst my peers I was also becoming known as the “Pop-Up shop Guru” and the person who had many of the answers for this particular niche, after all I had made the mistakes and knew the pitfalls where my peers would struggle.
Popped with Phebe was born out of the deepest part of me that wants to give back to my floral community. I’ve been instrumental in building momentum and education towards a Pop-Up floral Shop & workshop culture that is quickly emerging amongst millennial designers, event florists, and home based florists. My hope is that if you’ve found yourself here it’s because you’re looking to do something different in your community and are eager to create a profitable event.
