Hey there & welcome back to the blog! Today as so many of us get ready to close the chapter to 2021, it’s only natural that I find myself taking a long look at the year and celebrating the “wins”. Before I get into all things business, I just HAVE to say by far one of the best wins I’ve had this year is becoming a mom and watching my husband become a father. I find myself teary just writing it because even after 7 months it still seems so surreal to love these two so deeply. With so much rain we welcomed our sweet rainbow baby in June and life has never ever been sweeter.
Popped with Phebe grew so much this year through mentoring, education, and I was able to be apart of so many wonderful conversations. I dreamed deeply that I could grow my love & passion for creating diversified income through floral pop-up shop events for my fellow floral designers and goodness were you listening!
Team Flower Interview – Kelly Perry – January 2021
I started my year off with an interview with owner Kelly Perry from Team Flower, it was so fun & Kelly was so easy to connect with which made our chat that much more exciting. I recently listened to my interview again and there are so many nuggets of advice you’d want to hear if you are planning a Floral Pop-Up Shop. You can listen to it here.
The Flower Podcast Interview -Scott Sheppard- March 2021
“When I think of the word POP, I remind myself that it’s profit over pretty and that keeps my business head over the imagery that we can do all day long”. HOLY, WOW! Was that me? I know first hand how much pressure there is to make something beautiful. As an artist our job is to be able to make anything beautiful and as an entrepreneur being profitable is essential. This is another GREAT podcast to get you fired up & ready to plan your Floral Pop-Up Shop. Listen to the full podcast here.
Interview with NHPR -April 2021
This interview touched on how Covid has directly impacted the floral industry. I think I speak for all of us when I say I wondered if there would be enough flowers for all of us with two wedding seasons crammed into one. It was an uncertain time and I still shudder when I think of white roses (lol, no really!). This was also the first time I felt like my business & educational world were connecting in a way I hadn’t anticipated, it was so much easier to explain to clients why these shortages were happening by sharing this article amongst many others. 2021 was a year of setting new expectations and I grew so much as a designer.
